The Golden Knights have made themselves betting favorites this season. After making history last season, the Golden Knights want to get back to the finals and win the Stanley Cup. They locked up some key pieces in William Carrier, William Karlsson, Shea Theodore, and Colin Miller. They did lose some key pieces in James Neal and David Perron, but they found replacements. Paul Stastny was a great signing. The center depth is looking good and a great playmaker to replace David Perron. Now, they made a trade I didn’t really understand. Max Pacioretty had a terrible season last year. To give up a Top 6 winger (Tatar), Top Prospect (Suzuki), and a pick doesn’t make much sense. Even though they signed him long term, I think they will regret it (unless they win the Stanley Cup). Is their team better? Yes, but the dream season from last year may have only been a one time thing. Team chemistry will be hurt by the loss of James Neal and David Perron. We don’t know. We will see.
